Blogger Q&A: Facts about me
Big thanks to Becca from Becca Blogs it Out for tagging me in this Blogger Q&A. As a personal finance blogger I don’t really post much about my personal life on here so this blogger Q&A is a chance to get to know a bit more about me! Please check out the other lovely bloggers tagged in this post too 🙂
Blogger Q&A: Tell us about your blog.
Skinny Spending is a personal finance blog where I document my money saving journey, how we became debt free, and the numerous ways I make money from home in my spare time. I have been blogging for over 3 years now around working part time and have learnt so much!
If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself?
I hope so, but I think I would also see how annoying I can be!
Do you use sarcasm a lot?
What’s the first thing you notice about people?
I honestly don’t know! I’m not very observant, but also I think that can be a good thing as I really try not to judge people on superficial things.
Scary movie or happy endings?
Happy every time, not a fan of scary stuff!
Soap & Glory Vanilla Body Milk, Cherry scented anything, Creosote (yes really!),
What’s the furthest you’ve ever been away from home?
Mexico…although furthest I’ve been recently is probably Asda.
Do you have any special talents?
I wouldn’t call it a special talent but making money from home through side hustling is something I’m pretty proud of. I have numerous posts on my blog outlining how I make money through Matched Betting, Ebay selling and Blogging.
Where were you born?
North East Lincolnshire, UK
What are your hobbies?
Reading, writing, working out, playing on my Nintendo Switch…and of course, blogging!
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I settled on teacher in my teens which I went on to be but when I was 10 in the late 80s / Kylie era, me and my friends wanted to get signed by Stock Aiken & Waterman. We thought it was that easy haha.
How many countries have you been to?
- I did a lot of cruises before I became broke!
What was your favourite/ worst subject at school?
English was always my favourite subject, I loved to write stories. I hated Maths and lacked confidence with it even though I was in the top set. The interesting thing is as a primary school teacher having to teach both I think I was a much better maths teacher because I could remember what confused me and explain it very clearly. Whereas trying to explain where to put a comma when you just *know* yourself was very hard, I don’t think I actually knew the official rules.
What is your favourite drink?
I live on water and tea. A Flat White is my go-to coffee shop treat, and for alcohol it’s Sauvingon Blanc or Rum & Coke.
Who are some of your favourite YouTubers?
For finance – MamaFurFur and Pandaboss.
For gaming (specifically Animal Crossing) – Mayor Mori
Favourite memory from childhood?
Playing with the kids from down the street in what seemed like endless hot summer days, making radio shows on cassettes and watching 80s Saturday morning TV.
How would you describe your fashion sense?
Non-existent these days! Which is just as well as I have no money to spend on clothes! Recently I have embraced shopping in charity shops which you can read more about here
Tell us one of your bad habits.
Not knowing my drinking limits and ending in a big old hungover mess the next day. I’m just pleased to say it is no longer spending on my credit card without thinking!
I would love to find out more about other bloggers, so I’m tagging the following to share their random facts:
Laura from Barely Coping Mum
Sara from My Art Therapy Workshop
