eBay Outlet Stores Guide: Save up to 80%
One of eBay’s best kept secrets are the brand outlet stores available on its site. Whereas many people still see eBay as a place to find both preloved and new items sold by independent sellers, there are many well known UK brands that have eBay outlet stores.
This means that just like any outlet store, you can find branded items at a fraction of the usual cost, direct from the brand itself.
In this article, I will look at the different categories for eBay outlet stores, an A-Z store directory, as well as why they are so bafflingly hard to find.
What do the eBay outlet stores sell?
The official brand outlets tend to sell a limited range of products at a reduced price that may be discontinued or no longer available on the brand’s main site or in store.
Unlike third party independent sellers, these items are usually new, factory seconds or refurbished rather than in a used condition.
Due to the nature of discontinued items, the sizing range or models available may be limited in number. That’s not to say you can’t find some great bargains, and I have often found great items both for myself and as gifts.
Am I going to get a bargain at an outlet?
Of course, that depends! The old saying “It’s only a bargain if you need it” definitely applies here. There are some great savings to be made so provided it is an item you need, you can be sure to find a bargain.
How to find eBay outlet stores
Frustratingly, the way the eBay search works means you can’t just type in “Joules outlet” for example, and find the store. In fact, some of the eBay outlet stores are very difficult to find!
I don’t know if this is because eBay want to encourage people to shop by category rather than store, but I know if I am looking for new as opposed to used items, I would rather buy from the brand outlet itself than a third party seller.
Recently, eBay have revamped the URLs of their outlet stores, and you might find some of the links you may have saved previously now no longer work, or the store may no longer exist.
Even more confusingly, the outlets are now all in separate categories, for fashion, electrical, sports etc.
In this post we will explore how to locate each eBay brand outlet.

How to find Fashion Brands on eBay
To find fashion brand outlets on eBay, at the top of the screen on desktop or mobile, you should see a menu option for “Brand Outlet”. This will take you to the Fashion Brand Outlet landing page.
Keep scrolling down until you see featured brands and a link to A-Z fashion brands.
The URLs for the fashion brands mostly begin with:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/e/fashion/brand-outlet-BRAND-NAME
For example:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/e/fashion/brand-outlet-crew-clothing
However, some smaller brands are now classified as eBay stores, in the same way as any small business on eBay. For example Brown Bag, a Men’s designer clothing brand has a URL that is now:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/brownbagoutlet
The “STR” denotes this is an eBay store.
If all else fails and you can’t find a brand by searching, you could always take a guess at the URL based on these two formats.
How to find electrical brand outlets on eBay
Even more confusingly, you won’t find household and electrical outlet stores under the Brand Outlet heading. Instead, on the eBay website (this will not work on the app), head to the Electronics section at the top of the page.
Scroll down, and towards the bottom you will see a list of featured stores. There does not seem to be a definitive A-Z list of outlet stores like the fashion category, however.
Electrical brand outlets on eBay include:
Currys Clearance (The Currys outlet store has now closed)
How to find Sports, Leisure and Hobby eBay outlet stores
At the top of the screen on the eBay site (this won’t work on the app), select Sports, Hobbies and Leisure.
Scroll to the bottom and you will see a section that says “Shop by Stores”.
Again, this is not a definitive list, but these are the current featured brands in this section:
What about the other brands available on eBay?
You may have noticed there are other sections at the top menu for items such as Toys, Health & Beauty etc.
While some of these categories do include stores, such as the toy section, these are not outlet stores. So while it’s good to know you can shop your favourite brands on eBay such as Hasbro and Lego, these official stores generally have the products at the same price as they are sold elsewhere online. It’s just another outlet on which to sell their products.
Of course, like any store, there are bound to be sales and discounts on certain items, but these may not be exclusive to eBay.
If you have a Nectar card, or a sitewite special offer from eBay then it could be worth your while buying from some of these official stores via eBay rather than from the brand’s direct website.
