Schuh Imperfects: Save up to 80% on Footwear
Schuh is a well known high street footwear retailer offering a range of branded footwear for men, women and children. Decent shoes aren’t cheap, and it is important to get good quality footwear, especially for growing children’s feet.
But did you know that Schuh have a discount section of their website where you can save up to 80% on footwear? In this post, we will look at the Schuh Imperfects website (Now called Schuh Ex Display) and whether it is a good option for saving money on shoes.
What are Schuh Imperfects?
The reason the Schuh Ex Display site exists is because it sells shoes that are not in perfect condition and cannot be sold in the main shop.
For example, They may have small marks or scuffs on them, or they may be shoes that were part of a window display and be suffering from discoloration.
Due to the nature of these imperfections, unlike outlet stores, each product is individual and not just the end of line. That means that the stock will change frequently and it is unlikely that more than a few of each product line will be available. Therefore, if you see something you like, you may need to act fast!
Within each listing, there are actual, close up photos of the actual shoe and its imperfections rather than the standard stock photo, as well as a detailed description about its flaws. This is really helpful in making an informed decision about whether you can live with the defect or not.
Here are some example listings from the Schuh Ex Display site in March 2023. For all of these listings the imperfection was described as some discoloration to the right shoe:
There is also a disclaimer on each listing that the footwear may not be in its original packaging.
Where can I buy Schuh Imperfects?
Schuh imperfects, now called Schuh Ex Display, are available online only in the ex display section of the main Schuh website.
What’s Available in the Range?
Because the products are individual rather than a discounted line, the range available changes frequently.
However, there are sections for Men’s, Women’s and Children’s, as well as all the regular categories for different types of footwear such as boots, trainers, sandals and slippers. On occasions, there are several sizes available in the same range, but this will vary with each product and availability changes quickly.
How Discounted Are the Shoes?
The discounts vary from product to product depending on a number of factors such as the defect, size and product line, but Schuh claim that you can save up to 80%.
The items I featured above from March 2023 all feature generous discounts of 50% or more.
When heading to the Schuh Imperfects site you can filter results to display from lowest price first. While this won’t show you the biggest percentage discount, the original prices are displayed alongside the sale price so you can quickly see the reduction.
Can I return Schuh Imperfects items?
Yes, in line with the products on its main site, Schuh offers a generous 365-day returns policy. However, you cannot return the ex-display shoes to a shop.
My Schuh account holders get free online returns, otherwise for non account holders, £2.50 will be deducted from your refund.
As signing up and registering for a MySchuh account is free, I would strongly suggest you sign up at the time of purchasing just in case you need to make a return – that goes for buying shoes in the main site too, although you can return these products to a branch of Schuh.
Does Schuh Imperfects Offer A Student Discount?
Yes, you can use the same 10% student discount that you get from Schuh when shopping in the Imperfects section. Simply Enter the code in the normal way at the checkout, and your discount will be applied.
Can you earn Nectar Points with Schuh Imperfects?
Yes, just like the main Schuh website, you can also collect Nectar points on the Ex Display / Imperfects section of the Schuh website.
I find it really handy to have the Nectar Notifier Chrome Extension installed. This pops up on relevant websites to remind me that I can earn Nectar points from this retailer.
Is it worth buying Schuh Imperfects?
If you are trying to save money on shoes, it is definitely worth checking out Schuh Imperfects. It could especially be worthwhile for example, for children’s trainers where scuffs or discolouration are going to happen to new shoes in a matter of time anyway, plus it may only be a matter of months before they grow out of them.
