More than ever, an increasing number of us are looking to save money on our household expenses including food and drink. A great way to do this is to take advantage of supermarket special offers.
One of the most popular UK supermarket offers is 25% off selected wines when buying 6 bottles. This offer has proved so popular that many supermarkets have replicated the offer, with it now being offered in most major UK supermarkets.

Which Supermarkets have Wine Offers?
Currently, the following supermarkets have the 25% off 6 bottles of wine offer. These are all run at limited times throughout the year, so are not consistently live. We will look at the next upcoming dates for the supermarket wine offers later in the post.

Do I have to buy 6 of the same bottle?
At most of the supermarkets you can mix and match the wines on offer and this has been the case for previous deals, so we can predict that it will continue for the future.
However, always check the supermarket’s T&Cs of the offer if you are unsure. M&S for example, have a more generous deal of ⅓ off 6 bottles of wine, but this only applies to a crate of the same product.
Is the 25% off Wine offer available Online and in-store?
Yes, historically the offers are available both online and in store. Always check the T&Cs of the individual offer.
Asda Wine Offers
Asda regularly has the 25% off wine sale on selected bottles priced £4.75 and over. These tend to include red, white, rose and fizz such as Prosecco.
The sales take place at regular intervals throughout the year to coincide with the run up to celebrations such as Easter, August Bank Holiday, Halloween and Christmas. Please note this offer is only available in England.

How long is the 25% off wine offer at Asda?
As you can see from these dates, the Asda wine offer lasts around a week and a half, with a longer 3 week offer in the run up to Christmas.

Tesco Wine Offers
Just like Asda, Tesco holds their wine offer dates at regular intervals throughout the year to coincide with bank holidays. It is extremely likely that any Tesco wine offer will be available to Clubcard holders only. You can purchase a maximum of 36 bottles. This offer is not available in Scotland.

As you can see from these dates, the 25% off wine offer at Tesco tends to run for just under a week.
Sainsbury’s Wine Offers
Sainsbury’s 25% off 6 bottles of wine is available on selected wines over £5 in England and £7 in Wales. It is not available in Scotland, or at branches of Sainsbury’s Local.
Although unlike Tesco, the offer is not exclusive to Nectar Card holders, it makes sense to use your Nectar card and collect points on your purchase.
Like Tesco, you can purchase a maximum purchase of 36 bottles.

Morrisons Wine Offers
NOW ON – 25% off when you buy 3 bottles of The Best (Morrisons own brand) wine
Morrison’s have run 25% off 6 bottles of wine offers, but not as regularly as the other supermarkets so it is harder to predict when their next offer may be.
Morrisons currently have a buy 3, get 25% off offer, but this is limited to their own brand The Best, so you won’t find other brands included this time.

The length of the offer seems to fluctuate more than other supermarkets, but are generally 1-2 weeks. Make sure you check the Morrison’s More app for the latest offers.
M&S Wine Offers
Previously, M&S have taken part in the 25% off 6 bottles of wine offer, but the last date was November 2019, so it is unclear if they will bring this back again.
However, in November 2022, they had a third off cases of 6 bottles of selected wine, so this actually works out better value than the other supermarket wine offers. The only difference is you cannot mix and match the wines, as you are buying a case of one type.
Additionally, you can grab a bottle of selected wine as part of the M&S Dine in offers, or check the M&S Sparks card app for regular offers and savings on individual bottles.

Supermarket Wine Offers FAQs
Has Amazon got 25% off wine?
Recently Amazon have jumped on the 25% off wine offer, stating that you can get 25% off selected bottles with code WINE, although when I checked this in November 2022 the search results it returned for the offer did not have a great selection and much more expensive than your average supermarket bottle.
However, this does mean that the savings you make would be greater if there was something you wanted.
You can also take advantage of Amazon subscribe & save to save between 5% and 15% on subscription items, including wine, such as this case of 3 red wines.
Has Co-Op got 25% off wine?
Currently, Co-op has not taken part in the 25% off wine offer. As a convenience store, they are not really classed as a supermarket. However they do have some special offers on individual bottles of wine.
Has Lidl got 25% off wine?
Unfortunately Lidl are yet to take part in the 25% off wine offer. However, they do occasionally have individual wine offers, and also have lower wine prices in general. The Lidl Plus app can sometimes have offers on individual bottles.
Has Aldi got 25% off wine?
Like Lidl, Aldi are yet to take part in the 25% off wine offer. They do also offer some very competitive prices on good quality wine, including this organic Prosecco which is a personal favourite of mine!
Other Ways to Save Money on Wine
Look at a wine specialist
Naked Wines, Virgin Wines and Laithwaites all have introductory offers for new customers where you can save money on wine. You might also discover bottles you would have never seen in the supermarkets.
Get cashback
Cashback offers change periodically, but it’s always with checking what’s available. while cashback is rarely available at supermarkets, Airtime Rewards used to have cashback for Asda spends, so this is something that may return in the future.
Currency in November 2022 Airtime Rewards have cashback available for Ocado, while Topcashback customers can get 8% cashback at M&S on wine for existing customers and 12% for new customers.

Wine merchants such as Laithwaites and Naked Wines are much more likely to be found on cashback apps, with both being available on TopCashback.

Use supermarket loyalty schemes
Tesco Clubcard holders are regularly privy to Clubcard exclusive offers on wine, while Asda Rewards regularly has missions and special offers linked to wine purchases. Sainsbury’s have also introduced Nectar Prices which could mean discounts on wine.
With all supermarket loyalty schemes, even if there is no special offer, you might as well collect the points on your wine purchase to make savings elsewhere.
