Where do kids eat free or for £1 in 2024?
If you’re looking for affordable days out with the family this half term, factoring the cost of eating out can be just as much as the day trip!
Thankfully, there are a growing number of UK pubs, restaurants and cafes offering free meals or £1 meals for kids. I’ve put together a list of all current offers, together with the terms of the offer and any restrictions.
So if you’re wondering where do kids eat free near me this half term, look no further!

When is the UK Whit half term school holidays 2024?
School holidays and half terms can differ between regions and even within the same local authorities. Due to this, the dates these offers may be available may vary from region to region, or be blanketed to cover all holiday dates.
Most schools in England and Wales break up for Whit Half term on Friday 24th May 2024. Some have a week off and return on Monday 3rd June, while others have a 2 week break and return on Monday 10th June.
Always check the terms and conditions of the offer and any dates it is valid. Bear in mind that Monday 28th May is a UK bank holiday, and some offers may not be valid on these dates.
Where can kids eat free in the UK this half term?
Supermarkets and Shops where kids can eat free
Marks & Spencer – M&S have confirmed the kids eat free offer is back for Summer 2023.
In Scotland, the kids eat free offer is valid from Monday July 3rd to Friday August 18th, while in England and Wales it will run from 24th July to 1st September 2023 (weekends not included). During these dates, kids can enjoy a £4 Kids Munch Menu on M&S every time an adult spends £5 or more in the Café.
The Kids Munch Menu includes: 1 main such as jacket potato with beans or cheesy tomato pasta, 1 snack including carrot sticks or mini chocolate chip cookies, and 1 drink.
PLUS, the Percy Pig(tm) and Colin the Caterpillar(tm) Slushee are now included as the drink option within the Kids Eat Free offer (with a total saving of up to £6.75 if you were to buy each product separately).
Remember to use your Sparks card towards a free hot drink too!
Morrisons cafe – Kids eat free at Morrisons cafe when an adult spends £4.50 or more on a meal. This is currently an ongoing offer not limited to the school holidays.
Dunelm – For every £4 spent in the Dunelm Pausa Cafe kids can eat free, comprising a meal of one mini main, two snacks and a drink. This offer is currently available all day, every day but at certain times it can be restricted to Mon-Fri after 3pm only.
Tesco Cafe – Clubcard holders exclusive – Kids eat free when an adult makes any purchase whilst dining in at The Café. Monday to Friday only.
Pubs & Restaurants where kids can eat free
Gordon Ramsay Restaurants – Kids under 8 can eat for free all day every day when an adult purchases a main meal. This is an ongoing offer and not available at all locations, so click the link for more details. Bear in mind that the T&Cs state: Not available on certain key dates, including but not limited to Christmas Day and New Years Eve.
Bill’s – Up to two kids can eat free ALL DAY from Monday 27th May – Friday 31st May (excluding Saturday & Sunday), if one adult orders any main dish (breakfast, lunch or dinner).
Preto – One child under 10 can eat free per full paying adult. This offer is valid all weekend, and weekdays after 4pm, but from 12pm every day during school holidays. A voucher from the link needs to be downloaded and presented to a member of staff.
Brewers Fayre – Two under 16s can eat a free breakfast with every adult breakfast purchased. You can also get a kid’s 3 course meal for £4.99. Not free but great value nonetheless!
Beefeater – Two under 16s can eat a free breakfast with every adult breakfast purchased. There is also a 3 course Kid’s Meal deal for £6.99.
Whitbread Inns – Two under 16s can eat a free breakfast with every adult breakfast purchased. Whitbread also offer a £4.99 3 course kid’s meal deal.
YO! Sushi – Kids can get a free bento box with a minimum adult spend of £10. Offer valid Monday 28th- Friday 31st May 2024.
The Real Greek – One child under 12 can eat free per adult spending £10+. An on-going offer valid on Sundays only.
Hotels & Travel locations where kids can eat free
Premier Inn – Two under 16s can eat breakfast for free when one adult orders a full Premier Inn Breakfast or a Meal Deal.
Travelodge – Travelodge have a similar breakfast offer, two under 15s can eat for free when an adult purchases an unlimited breakfast.
Heathrow Airport – If you happen to be jetting off in any of the school holidays in 2024, you can take advantage of a free kids meal with every adult’s meal purchased at the following Heathrow airport restaurants: Leon; YO! Sushi; Big Smoke; Giraffe; Pilots; and Vagabond. The link above details all valid dates for the offer throughout 2024.
Where can kids eat for £1 near me?
Bella Italia – Kids from ages 4-11 can get a three course meal with drink for £1 at Bella Italia with the purchase of any adult main meal. Offer valid from 4-6pm Monday-Thursday. Dates currently ongoing.
July 2023 UPDATE: This offer is now available at the weekends in select locations. Follow the link to learn more.
Sizzling Inns – Kids eat for £1 when an adult purchases a main meal. 3pm-7pm only. This offer is back for 2024.
IKEA – Ikea Family Card exclusive. Pasta and tomato sauce and a soft drink for 95p or any other kids meal for £1.50. Available every day from 11am. Family card holders can also receive free hot drinks Mon-Fri. Dates currently ongoing and a perk of Ikea Family card which is free to join.
Sainsbury’s Cafe – Kids can enjoy one main meal or a lunch bag for just £1 when an adult purchases a hot main meal from £5.20. You can view the Kids menu and £1 offer here
ASDA cafe – Kids can eat for £1 all day every day with no adult purchase necessary during May half term 2024.
You can also get a free Ella’s kitchen baby food pouch with every cafe purchase. This is an ongoing offer.
Hungry Horse – Kids can eat for £1 or £1.50 (depending on their menu choice) every Monday only. This offer is ongoing and not restricted to the school holidays.
Other money savng offers
Table Table – Feed the Family for £20
Have an awesome family time at Table Table with their special Feed The Family offer! From May 28th to 7th June, Monday to Friday, 12-6 pm, you can get two yummy adult meals and two kids meals for just £20.
Kids can enjoy yummy options like Spaghetti Bolognese, Oven Baked Poppin’ Chicken, and a tasty Steak Burger, and each meal has at least two of their five-a-day portions! Adults cac pick from tasty dishes like Fish & Chips, Smothered Chicken, and the Classic Cheeseburger.

Even though these offers are not currently valid, it’s good to be aware of the shops and restaurant offers that may come back soon. This page will be updated to reflect any changes as soon as possible, but it may be worth clicking through these links to see if an offer has been reactivated.
Cafe Rouge – Get a child’s 2 or 3 course set menu for free with the purchase of every adult main course from the A La Carte menu. Last available every day after midday from 22nd May until 4th June 2023.
Farmhouse Inns – Two kids can eat for £1 per paying adult. This is an email subscriber exclusive, so be sure to sign up to their mailing list to gain access and all the details. This was last live February 2023.
Dobbies Garden Centres – Kids eat free with the purchase of an adult meal. Offer valid on the kids lunch menu or pick ‘n’ mix’ meal, plus a drink. Available daily from 12pm. Last available May 2023.
Angus Steakhouse – Kids under 10 can eat free with every adult main meal purchased. Available between 12pm – 5pm. This offer is ongoing year round, but NOT valid during school holidays.
ASDA cafe – Asda previously teamed up with Quaker Oats to offer children a free porridge breakfast between 8am – 12pm every day during February 2023 half term, no purchase necessary.
Carluccios – Kids eat for £1 from 10th February- 26th February with the purchase of an adult main course.
