Which items are discounted in the George at Asda clothing sale?

Do I need an Asda Rewards account to shop in the George at Asda clothing sales?
No, the sales are not exclusive to Asda Rewards customers, so you don’t need to be a member of Asda Rewards to get the sale prices.
Unlike Tesco, where a Clubcard is needed even to shop the in-store sale, anyone can purchase the sale prices at Asda.
However, sign up is completely free and you can earn money off your next Asda purchases, so there’s nothing to lose by becoming an Asda Rewards customer.

Top tips to maximise your savings in the George at Asda clothing sales
Use Asda Rewards
Asda Rewards is a completely free loyalty scheme where shoppers are rewarded by building a cashpot that can be redeemed as a coupon for money off their future Asda purchases. This applies across the whole Asda range, including George clothing.
They regularly have incentives (called Missions) to boost your cashpot linked to spending on George clothing, for example “get £2 in your cashpot when you spend £20 at George.”, and this incentive below which offers 10% cashback for spending at George.

Use George Rewards
Rather confusingly (even for myself, as the writer of this post and a regular Asda shopper) there is a George Rewards scheme that is separate from Asda Rewards.
The George Rewards scheme is points based and is only available for online purchases rather than in-store. Points are earned by purchasing George clothing online, with extra points being awarded for certain options such as opting for click & collect delivery, or (bizarrely), ordering at a certain time of day.
Once you have earned points, they can be redeemed against rewards such as an extra 10% off sale prices.
Rather than using a physical card or app, the George Rewards scheme is linked to your online Asda account, so points are earned automatically when shopping at George online.
George at Asda Cashback
As well as Asda Rewards, you can currently earn 11% cashback on George clothing as a new Topcashback customer, or 5% as an existing customer.
Additionally, Airtime Rewards previously offered 2% cashback at Asda. This offer is no longer available, but it may be back in the future.

Subscribe to George emails and alerts
As a George email subscriber I am always alerted in my inbox when a new sale has started. Additionally, on the George website there is an option to sign up for push style notifications on your laptop. I haven’t done this personally as I would find it too distracting, but it is another option to stay notified on any sale updates.
Follow George on social media
George at Asda have several social media accounts including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, so you can keep up to date with any sale announcements and other special offers. Find links to all George social accounts by scrolling to the bottom of their homepage.
Look for coupons and offers in the free Asda Magazine
Occasionally, there have been money off George clothing coupons in the Asda magazine. As this is completely free, it’s worth picking one up in store before you head to the clothing section to see if there are any offers to compliment the items you were going to buy anyway.
Make a list of what you need beforehand
For any sale, it can be easy to get carried away buying items you don’t actually need just because they are a bargain. I used to be a serial offender for this! Similarly, you can kick yourself for forgetting to look in a certain section and then remembering afterwards you needed beachwear for an upcoming holiday, for example.
For this reason, it’s a good idea to keep a list of things you need so that you can look out for them as and when sales happen. I find this is particularly useful to keep track of the items my kids need, or if you have an event or holiday coming up and are on the lookout for specific items. I use the notes app on my phone to make my list so I know I will always have it when out and about.
Don’t buy items you don’t need just to qualify for an offer
I have a name for this – Freebie FOMO – fear of missing out on a bargain! Of course, there are definitely times when it makes sense to buy an extra item in order to get a bigger discount. But just be mindful of whether the offer is actually worthwhile to you.
If you find yourself buying things you don’t actually want just to save a percentage off – when it would have cost you less just to stick with your original purchase – then definitely walk away!
