Asda Half Price Toy Sale 2023: When is the Asda toy sale?
What is the Asda Toy Sale?
Every year, usually in mid September, Asda has a toy sale known as the Big Toy Rollback with savings of up to 50% on leading toy brands.
Although September is still a few months from Christmas, this is a great chance for organised shoppers to get their Christmas shopping started well in advance of Black Friday with some amazing bargains, not to mention the opportunity to spread the cost of Christmas over several months.
In this post, we will look at the predicted date for the Big Toy Rollback at Asda in 2023, as well as tips and tricks to save even more.
When does the Asda toy sale start?
Predicted Date in 2023: Tuesday 12th September 2023
Previous Asda Half Price Toy Sale Dates
2022: Monday 12th September
2021: Sunday 12th September
2020: Monday 12th September
Unlike some other sales, for the past few years the Asda half price toy sale seems to start consistently on the 12th September regardless of the day of the week this is. Will this be the case in 2023? Even if it is looking extremely likely we will update this prediction as soon as it is confirmed.
Until then, it’s a safe bet to assume to be ready for the Asda big toy rollback on Tuesday September 12th 2023.
Which toys and brands are included in the Asda Big Toy Rollback?
The exact toys and discounts in the Asda toy sale will not be revealed until the sale launches, but expect big savings on well known toy brands and characters such as:

Is the Asda toy sale online as well as in store?
Yes, you can shop the Asda Big Toy Rollback online. Delivery charges of £2.95 apply for home delivery, or you can click and collect for free to any Asda store.
Is the Asda toy sale in all stores?
No, it will not take place in the smaller Asda Supermarkets that don’t usually stock toys. As a guide, if your local branch stocks toys, then they will have the Big Toy Rollback in store.
Can I return Asda purchases made in the toy sale?
Yes, in line with Asda’s regular returns policy, you will be able to return unused items in their original condition within 100 days of purchase. Returns to Asda can be done online for free, or you can return to store. See Asda’s returns page for all the details.
Do Asda hold other toy sales throughout the year?
Yes, there are regular toy sales at Asda throughout the year, although these may not feature as many products or savings. Baby and Toddler toys can feature on sale as part of the Asda Baby And Toddler Event.
Tips to get the best deals in the Asda Toy Sale
List and track your toy purchases
Get organised before the sale even starts by making a list of what you’re looking out for. This could be just the general brands, such as Lego or Barbie. As mentioned above, the toy section of the Asda website could be a good place to start to see what might be featured in the Big Toy Rollback. Make sure you make a note of the full price and do a quick online comparison with other toy retailers.
This will help you save time and stay focused on finding what you need when the sale actually starts, as well as if the sale price is actually a bargain or not.
After your purchase, make sure you keep a record of what you have bought, who it is for and how much it cost so you can easily keep track. It can be so easy to end up overbuying for Christmas, especially if you are starting early, and end up negating any savings from the sales!
Fortunately you can do all of this and more with this Free Debt Free Christmas Planner featuring 15 pages to help you stay organised and have a debt free Christmas. Download yours for FREE by filling in the form on this page and get instant access.

Maximise the savings on future birthday presents
If you have children of primary school age, the likelihood is they get invited to several birthday parties throughout the year. Take advantage of the sale prices on the smaller items that could be used as birthday presents for friends over the next few months.

Make sure you use your Asda Rewards app
Asda Rewards is Asda’s (fairly) new loyalty scheme that is completely free to join. Every time you shop in store or online, you can earn Asda rewards cashback which can then be redeemed as a money off voucher against your future Asda purchases.
There are also chances to boost your cashpot with Star Products and Milestone Missions, and in the past these have included incentives for buying certain toys.
You can find all the details about Asda Rewards in the link below.
Use George Rewards if shopping online
Rather confusingly, George Rewards is a separate loyalty scheme to Asda Rewards. George Rewards is points based, and you can earn points based on your online purchases at George that are redeemable against certain rewards such as 10% off George clothing.
Use Cashback
There are an increasing number of cashback apps out there, and offers can change frequently, so it’s always best to check what is the best cashback offer before deciding which one to use.
At the time of writing (April 2023), new Topcashback customers can get 11% cashback at Asda George, while existing customers can get 5%. The George brand includes all clothing, toys, outdoor & garden, home and lifestyle items available at Asda, so toy purchases are included in this cashback offer.
Quidco currently offers 5.25% cashback at George for new customers, and 3.75% cashback for existing customers.
There’s no guarantee, but if you use a click through cashback app as well as having cards registered with an automatic cashback app like Airtime Rewards, or Cheddar it may be possible to get double cashback – once from the click through app, e.g. Topcashback, and again via paying with your registered bank card.
And if you earn Asda Rewards on top, that’s 3 separate ways to get a little back on your purchase!
Although Airtime Rewards have offered Asda cashback in the past, they currently don’t offer it. But watch this space if it returns!
Zilch
Zilch works in a slightly different way from other cashback apps as it also includes an interest free buy now pay in 4 option, but if you pay in full via the Zilch app you can earn 2% cashback on all Asda purchases. As you need to click through Zilch to claim this offer, it is unlikely to work with any of the other cashback options above, and at the lowest percent return, you’re currently better off with the Topcashback offer.

Do a price comparison
As mentioned above, try and have a look at a few toy retailers and note their prices before heading to the sale. It can be all too easy, especially when in the store, to get carried away with what looks like a great bargain, only to find that the “sale price” is the same as the RRP elsewhere.
While this won’t matter so much if you are picking up items you definitely want, if you are getting carried away picking up extras because they are “bargains” but with no real idea who they will be gifts for, you could end up wasting money.
If in doubt, you can always pick up the items and then do a quick price comparison check on your phone in store.
